XENIA — Greene County officials received recognition for the county’s clean audit report from the Auditor of State’s office, Thursday.

“The county’s excellent record keeping has qualified it for the Auditor of State Award with Distinction,” a release from Auditor of State Dave Yost’s office stated.

“Good finance is important to everything government does,” Auditor of State Dave Yost stated in the release. “Sound budgetary decisions depend on clean and accurate books.”

The award is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. Entities that receive the award meet the criteria of a “clean” auditor report, which includes characteristics such as filing timely financial reports, having an audit report that does not contain any findings for recovery or other issues.
