BEAVERCREEK — The City of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Cultural Department plans a variety of upcoming programs for residents. Events are held C.I. Better Baby Sitters

Does your son or daughter know what to do if there was an emergency when they are babysitting? Enroll your child in the Better Baby Sitters Class so they can gain confidence and the skills to handle situations that may occur while babysitting.

The two-day class is scheduled for 12-4:30 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 13 and Feb. 20. Students will learn the responsibilities of having a job, the Rights of a Baby Sitter, CPR for a child and infant, basic First Aid, growth and development and appropriate toys and activities for children. Resident fee is $100 per child; non-resident fee is $115 per child.

Bicycle Maintenance Class

Get ready for spring and summer bicycling with a Bicycle Maintenance Class for ages 12 and up. Students will learn how to perform routine repairs and tune ups with instructors from K & G Bike Shops and the Bikeway Advisory Committee.

Students are to bring their own bicycle to the class. Participants under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.

The class is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 22 through March 16 at Beavercreek High School Commons. The fee is $12 per person per resident; $24 per resident family. Non-resident fee is $15; $30 per non-resident family.

Kid’s Paint, Paste & Play

Enjoy a fun filled class with your little one! It’s time to register for Kids’ Paint, Paste & Play. Pre-schoolers assisted by their special adult will enjoy this interactive class. Playful learning includes music and movement, messy art, science fun, parachute play, craft time and more. Please bring an old shirt or cover-up to each class. Material fee included. Resident fee is $35 and non-resident fee is $40. Class is scheduled for 10-10:45 a.m. Ages 18-24 months, 11-11:45 a.m. – ages 2-4 Tuesdays, Jan. 26-Feb. 23.

Kids program

The parks will offer fall fun with a holiday workshop – Be My Valentine event Tuesday, Feb. 9. The program will be 10-11:30 a.m. at the parks, 3696 Highmont St. Program for ages 3-7. Cost $15 residents, $20 non-residents.

Yoga, Pilates classes

The City of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is offering Yoga, Pilates and Piyo classes throughout the winter at various times and days.

Yoga reduces stress and tension, strengthens the lungs, increases energy levels, improves the immune system, lowers blood pressure, and increases flexibility and mobility. This class is designed for all levels of experience. Yoga class is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 25-Feb. 22 or Thursdays, Jan. 28-Feb. 25.

Pilates is a popular fitness method that improves your body shape and alignment. It consists of a series of exercises that gradually tones and strengthens your core muscles and improves flexibility. Class will meet 6:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 27 – Feb. 24.

PiYo is a perfect fusion of Pilates, Yoga, dance, sports training and more. Increase flexibility, build overall core strength, and improve balance. The class is designed for those that want an intense workout that is easy on the joints but burns calories and builds muscle in one effective workout. Class is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 26 – Feb. 23.
