GREENE COUNTY — Greene County voters said “yes” to all renewal levies on the Nov. 6 ballot.

Levies included the Yellow Springs Exempted Village School District, Greene Memorial Hospital, Greene County Children Services, Greene County Council on Aging, Greene County Developmental Disabilities, Beavercreek city, Spring Valley for current expenses, Ross Township, Sugarcreek Township, Jefferson Township, and New Jasper Township. Approval is based on unofficial election results from the Greene County Board of Elections.

The Greene Memorial Hospital levy is for 0.50 mills for five years and supports current expenses with 40,775 or 62 percent voters saying “yes” while 24,966 or 37 percent voted “no.”

“I’m very pleased with the passing of the renewal levy,” said Greene Medical Foundation Board Chair John Finlay. “It means the people — all over this county — believe in quality health care.”

The Yellow Springs Exempted Village District renewal levy is for 1.2 mills for a five years and will go toward permanent improvements. It garnered 2,050 “yes” votes or 75 percent, while 652 or 24 percent of voters said “no.”

Greene County Children Services had a renewal levy o 1.5 mills for five years with 48,641 or 73 percent of voters approving the levy compared to 17,198 or 26 percent of voters being against the levy.

The Greene County Council on aging renewal levy is for 1.4 mills for five years and supports senior citizen services with 49,699 or 75 percent of voters approving the levy and 16,171 or 24 percent of voters being against the levy.

The Greene County Developmental Disabilities renewal levy is for 3.5 mills for five years. More than 67 percent of voters, or 44,191 voted for the levy, compared to more than 32 percent or 21,358 voters being against the levy.

The Beavercreek city renewal levy is for 4.5 mills for a continuing period to support police services with 14,813 or 69 percent of voters approving the levy compared to 6,616 or 30 percent of voters being against the levy.

The Spring Valley Village renewal levies are for 1 mill and 3 mills respectively for five years and support current expenses; another Spring Valley Township renewal levy is for 1.5 mills for five years and supports roads and bridges. The 1-mill levy garnered 149 or 74 percent of approval votes compared to 51 or 25 percent being against the levy. The 3-mill levy collected 145 or 72 percent “yes” votes compared to 54 or 27 percent “no” votes. The roads and bridges levy had 829 or 72 percent of “yes” votes compared to 312 or 27 percent of “no” votes.

The Ross Township renewal levy is for 1.5 mills for five years and supports current expenses. More than 70 percent or 283 voters approved, while 120 or more than 29 percent voted against the levy.

The Sugarcreek Township renewal levy is for 2 mills for five years and supports fire and EMS with 3,069 or 75 percent of voters approving, while 1,012 or 24 percent of voters were against it.

The Jefferson Township renewal levy is for 3 mills for five years with 332 or 72 percent of voters approving, compared to 124 or 27 percent of voters saying “no.”.

The New Jasper Township renewal levy is for 1.5 mills for five years and supports streets, roads and bridges with 907 or 75 percent of voters approving the levy compared to 299 or 24 percent of voters being against the levy.
