Slye named to list

OXFORD — Melina Slye of Beavercreek has been named to the president’s list for the fall semester 2018 at Miami University. The president’s list recognizes academic excellence of students ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students. Melina is a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology.

Dean’s list announced

FINDLAY — University of Findlay announced fall dean’s list. To earn this achievement a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Local students include: Erin Ashby of Englewood, Kyla Brandenburg of Fairborn, Sydney Kerr of Bellbrook, Kayla Mulvihill of Fairborn and Sydney Schiavone of Beavercreek.

Virnig earns recognition

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Josiah Virnig of Beavercreek has been accepted to the University of Evansville for enrollment in the fall 2019 semester.

UF bands perform

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble recently performed “Disney Goes to the Movies.” The band performed music from “Pocahontas,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Planes,” “Aladdin,” “Mary Poppins” and other favorites. The annual winter concert was directed by Jack Taylor, University professor of music.

Local students include: Jack DeLong of Fairborn, Dana Song of Beavercreek and Kyla Brandenburg of Fairborn.

WU dean’s list

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Lolly Buenaventura of Beavercreek was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Buenaventura is enrolled in the university’s Olin Business School.

To qualify for the dean’s list in the Olin Business School, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.
