WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Officials at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will host logistics organizations from across the Miami Valley during a visit to the base Thursday, April 21.

During the visit, the Dayton Area Logistics Association – a program of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce – along with the Logistics Officers Association and Society of Logistics Engineers will get a firsthand look at how WPAFB equips and deploys military members worldwide, as well as learn about some of the challenges associated with military logistics.

“Sharing best practices is an important part of success,” said Chris Kershner, vice president for public policy & economic development at the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. “Wright-Patterson Air Force Base does logistics on a major scale, and this is a great opportunity for us.”

A representative of the Small Business Administration will also be on hand at the event to share base contract opportunities and information about how to apply for them.

“We are excited to host logistics professionals from around the Miami Valley,” said Rebecca Westlake, vice director of the 88th Air Base Wing. “Logistics plays a very important role in military success and we look forward to showing what we do to get our troops to the fight.”
