ADA — Daniel Herting, a 2011 graduate of Beavercreek High School, recently received the Dankook Award from Ohio Northern University. The Dankook Award is an annual reciprocal award exchanged between Dankook University in South Korea and Ohio Northern University to recognize two seniors with outstanding records in academics, student leadership, co-curricular activities and service.

Herting is graduating from Ohio Northern University with a degree in mechanical engineering which included a one year co-op. He is president of ONU’s student section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and he leads ONU’s Human Powered Vehicle team which competes nationally. Herting was chair of the fund raising committee for ONU’s Habitat for Humanity for two years and also participated in jazz as lead trombone and played on the club ultimate Frisbee team. Dan is an active participant in the Sigma Theta Epsilon Christian fraternity.

After graduation he will be working for Grob Corporation in Bluffton. He is the son of Carl and Judy Herting of Beavercreek.
