BEAVERCREEK — A 16-year-old Beavercreek resident was arrested Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery in the city, according to police.

According to a release from the Beavercreek Police Department, the male suspect approached a clerk at the Speedway location at 3991 Indian Ripple Road early Sunday morning and demanded cash and cigars while he “displayed the handle of a handgun that was inside the pocket of his sweatshirt.”

The individual was reportedly given less than $300 and three boxes of cigarettes before he fled the scene.

According to the release, the teen was arrested Tuesday after confessing to a Beavercreek detective that he committed the robbery.

“The juvenile is not suspected of committing any other robberies and is being held at the Greene County Juvenile Detention Center awaiting the filing of formal aggravated robbery charges through the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office,” the release stated.
