XENIA — A woman serving a prison sentence for her role as part of a Dayton crime ring was sentenced for an additional charge Thursday. Theresa Kennedy, 34, was sentenced in Greene County Common Pleas Court to serve 12 months in prison in connection with a break-in at a Beavercreek auto shop in April 2015.
According to information from the Beavercreek Police Department, Kennedy and an associate, Kevin Palmer, 26, broke into the Tire Discounters location along Colonel Glenn Highway, where Kennedy’s car was being serviced, and took the car back without paying the bill.
Blood from the scene was matched to DNA to link the two to the incident, Beavercreek Police Captain Eric Grile told this newspaper previously.
Kennedy was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to a breaking and entering charge in connection with the incident. A theft charge was dismissed as part of plea negotiations. Kennedy also agreed to pay $1,300 in restitution as part of Thursday’s proceedings.
Palmer was sentenced earlier this month to serve 12 months in prison for a breaking and entry charge in connection with the incident, according to court records.
Kennedy is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence for 31 counts of theft, forgery, burglary and other crimes in both Montgomery and Greene counties, according to state records. Kennedy’s 12-month sentence will run concurrently to her sentences for her two other Greene County cases.
Palmer is currently serving a 16-year sentence for seven counts of burglary, theft and other crimes in Greene County.
According to police, Kennedy and Palmer were part of the “Twack Pack” group, which operated in the greater Dayton area, including Sugarcreek Township and Xenia, by stealing checks, credit cards, birth certificates, social security cards and other identity information to sell to purchase meth from a producer nicknamed “Methgyver.”
Kennedy was reportedly involved in several forms of identity theft via marriage licenses, credit cards and tax forms, while Palmer was involved in some of the burglaries, as well as pawning some of the stolen items, according to police.
