BEAVERCREEK — An accident at US Route 35 and Factory Road snarled traffic for several hours late night on Friday, Aug. 26.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a semi-tractor trailer driven by Stanford Samples, 52, was traveling east on Route 35 and failed to stop at a red light, hitting a pickup truck traveling north on Factory Road.
The driver of the pickup, Jonathan Stambaugh, 20, of Dayton, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he was treated and released. Samples was not injured and was charged with a red light violation, according to the patrol.
The intersection was closed for a few hours while the accident was cleared, according to media reports.
