National Merit semifinalists

EVANSTON, Ill. — Several Greene County-area students were among the 16,000 National Merit Scholar semifinalists announced recently. Approximately 90 percent of the semifinalists are expected to be named finalists and approximately 50 percent finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.

Semifinalists include: Beavercreek: Angela Lin; Bellbrook: Kasen A. Stephensen and Nathan W. Tong; Carroll: Julia M. Arnold, Ryan T. Buechele, Maeve K. Curliss, Alexander G. Dingus, and Angela M. Smith; Jamestown (homeschool): Josiah R. Lansford.

Summer graduates announced

WILMINGTON — Wilmington College announces the names of graduates earning bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees following the 2016 summer semester. Greene County residents earning degrees from the main campus are: Rachelle M. Bowen of Xenia who earned a BA in social/political studies and Candace H. Pritchard of Spring Valley who earned a BA in biology.
