XENIA — The Greene County Board of Elections conducted the official count and certified the results of the May 2 special election on May 16.

The results were released and the count was certified during the regular business meeting at the Greene County Social Services Center.

Online results show that the City of Bellbrook renewal levy, Miami Twp. additional bond issue, Yellow Springs Exempted Village School District renewal levy and Wilmington City School District proposed income tax renewal all passed. The Xenia Community City School District bond issue failed and there were no votes in the Greene County precinct for or against the Miami Valley Career Technology Vocational bond issue and tax levy.

According to Llyn McCoy, Director of Greene County Board of Elections, final official results for the Beavercreeek City School District substitute levy, which reportedly failed by 33 votes in Greene County’s count, will not be available until Montgomery County certifies and releases their official results. The school district overlaps into both counties.

Out of 75,010 registered voters, 11,328 cards were cast in Greene County precincts, or 15.1 percent, as reported on the official summary results.
