BEAVERCREEK — The Miss and Miss Jr. Beavercreek Civic Pageant was held at Beavercreek High School on June 9.

The purpose of this citizenship pageant is to select young women who represent the spirit of our community. The pageant is not based on appearance; the pageant prides itself on its long list of winners that have represented not only the city but themselves in a confident and upstanding fashion.

Callista Hess was selected as Miss Beavercreek. Hess is a sophomore at Beavercreek High School. She previously served as the 2015 Miss Jr. Beavercreek. Callista’s activities include playing French horn and trumpet, scuba diving, soccer, tumbling and learning German. In addition, she is vice president of several groups: National Jr. Honor Society, the Class of 2020 and Beavercreek Youth Council. She established a Build a Bear program, making bears to donate to Children’s Hospital and Heartland of Beavercreek.

Isabella Lacey was chosen as Miss Junior Beavercreek. Lacey is a sixth grade student at the Ankeny Middle School. Her dance abilities earned her a National Championship and Student of the Year at her dance studio. She performed in the Dayton Ballet Nutcracker program in 2016. She volunteers with teachers at school and at the Blue Mews Cat Rescue Adoption events.
