GREENE COUNTY – Dr. Cassie Barlow, SOCHE director of Aerospace Professional Development, has been appointed to the Ohio House BRAC and Military Affairs Task Force (BMATF).

Barlow, who previously served as Wing Commander of the 88th Air Base Wing of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, was determined to be an excellent fit for task force following input from Ohio’s U.S. Senators, Congressional Delegates, industry leaders, military experts and other federal, state and local groups.

Barlow joined Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) in July. As SOCHE Aerospace Professional Development Director, Barlow works with the aerospace and defense industry, government, higher education institutions around Ohio and the STEM initiatives in the Dayton region to offer career coaching, match employees with job openings, identify skills gaps in the workforce, facilitate internships in aerospace and assist students in finding STEM programs.

Barlow received her Ph.D in industrial and organizational psychology from Rice University. She holds a master’s degree from National Defense University, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, in military national resource strategy and policy and a master’s degree from air command and staff college in military operational art and science/studies.
