OCEAN TWP., N.J. —PowerBar team Elite member Susan Randall of Beavercreek won her first-ever 40-kilometer Race Walk National Championship, Sunday, in Ocean Township, N.J.

Randall won with a time of 3:59:21, and was the only woman to finish under four hours on her way to victory. She was also the first Masters Woman to finish as well. Earlier this year, Randall won a Silver Medal at the Pan American woman’s 50K race in Arica, Chile.

She is already qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials, it will be her third trials, she finished in 11th place in 2008 and in seventh in 2012.

Randall’s next ace will be at the Master’s 5K national championship on Oct. 3, in Kingsport, Minn. Randall is a team member of the Shore Athletic Club.

Beavers beat the Elks

BEAVERCREEK — The Elks versus the Beavers, a classic rivalry for all sports at BHS, was the match to watch Thursday night at Beavercreek High School as the Lady Beavers volleyball team took on Centerville. The girls defeated the Elks 3-2. Scores for the match were 20-25, 25-21, 25-23, 24-26, and 15-13.

“[We are] proud of what we did and even more proud of how hard we have worked,” said sophomore Lexi Moore.
