Local youth winning a trophy or ribbon in the Greene County Fish and Game Association .22 Rifle/BB gun shoot competition were Grace Dresher, Romain Braun, Kyle Miller, Alexis McAninch, John Rosenberger, Danielle Price, Caleb Miller, Nathan Braun, Emma Dresher, Gage Connolly, Paul Rosenberger Ryan Miller, Cristiana Price, Kyle Peterson, Angelica Heggem.

XENIA — The Greene County Fish and Game Association recently held two youth events for local outdoorsmen.

Despite the rain, nine youth competed in an archery event held on May 16. The inaugural youth archery event was almost canceled after some thunder was heard in the area, but there were no lightning strikes seen nearby and the participants voted to continue despite the rain. Every competitor earned a trophy in the event. Participating archers who shot in the rain were Ethan Williams, Lilly Vanover, Nick Williams, Danielle Price, Alek Srade, Chas Jaynes, Angelica Heggem, Christiana Price, Kyle Peterson, Kaleb Stilabower, and D’Shawn Ford.

A youth .22-caliber Rifle/BB gun shoot competition was held on Memorial weekend. Sixteen local kids shot in the holiday weekend event, marking the second rifle/BB gun competition of the season. Participating and winning either a trophy or ribbon were Grace Dresher, Romain Braun, Kyle Miller, Alexis McAninch, John Rosenberger, Danielle Price, Caleb Miller, Nathan Braun, Emma Dresher, Gage Connolly, Paul Rosenberger Ryan Miller, Cristiana Price, Kyle Peterson, Angelica Heggem.

The next scheduled youth event is an archery competition set for Saturday, June 6, on the Greene County Fish & Game grounds.
