BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Celebration of Excellence Gala Jan. 26 at the Hope Hotel & Richard C. Holbrooke Conference Center in Fairborn.

The event highlights those who contribute positively to the community.

Master of Ceremonies were Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Monique Reeves and Vice Chair Kristie Miller. Invocation was provided by Pastor Joe Godwin of Patterson Park Church.

Those receiving awards were: City of Beavercreek Employee of the Year – Karen Mahaffey; Beavercreek Township Employee of the Year – Allen Stiffler; Beavercreek City Schools Employee of the Year – Krista Lovewell; Greene County Career Center Friend of Education Award – Toni Overholser; Beavercreek Chamber 2017 Board Chair – Sandra Brubaker; Outstanding Young Person/Group of the Year – Beavercreek Peer Listeners; Young Professional of the Year – Stephen Brown; Outstanding Business Person of the Year – Jerry Butts; Gussie Jones Civic Award – Sandy Woodruff; Military Award in Honor of Ret. Col. Len Holihan – Charlynda Scales; Chamber Member of the Year – Holly Beard and EG Shaw Lifetime Achievement – Mike Zwick.

Stephen Brown was named Young Professional of the Year. He was presented the award by Kristie Miller.
