BEAVERCREEK — The City of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Cultural Department plans a variety of upcoming programs for residents. Events are held C.I. Strollers in motion

The Parks Department is inviting moms and caregivers to enroll in Strollers in Motion. Strollers in Motion gives a body workout that incorporates power walking and strolling, strength training, balance work and toning. Strollers in Motion is an awesome way to get fit and meet other moms while having fun with their little one.

Participants will meet 9:30-10:15 a.m. Wednesdays, April 27 – May 25 at Dominick Lofino Park, 640 Grange Hall Road.

Real people wellness

Real People Wellness classes to help you develop habits to guide you to a healthy lifestyle. Students will learn how to make better choices with food, move more, be active naturally and stay motivated. Classes will help achieve your goal of losing weight. Class will meet 7:15-8:15 p.m. Wednesdays, April 20-May 18 at C. I. Beaver Hall. Pre-registration is required.

Family guitar

Family Guitar is designed to equip families for fun music-making at home. Participants will learn chords, playing and singing together, melodic guitar techniques and a variety of genres.

Class will meet 10:30-11:15 a.m. Saturdays, April 2-May 21 at the Piano Preparatory School, 3899 Indian Ripple Road. Tuition is based on at least two participants (1 child and 1 adult) enrolling in class.

Beginning guitar

Register for Beginning Guitar Class for youth and adults. Beginning guitar provides small group classes that cover beginning guitar notation, chords and guitar techniques. Participants must provide their own acoustic or classical guitar or rent one for the duration of the class. Classes are scheduled for Tuesdays, April 5 – May 24 at the Piano Preparatory School, 3899 Indian Ripple Road, Suite C.

Fitness classes

The Parks Department is offering Yoga, Pilates, and Piyo classes to get you in shape.

Yogareduces stress and tension, strengthens the lungs, increases energy levels, improves the immune system, lowers blood pressure, and increases flexibility and mobility. This class is designed for all levels of experience. Yoga class is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Mondays, now through April 4 or Thursdays, March 10-April 7.

Pilatesis a popular fitness method that improves your body shape and alignment. It consists of a series of exercises that gradually tones and strengthens your core muscles and improves flexibility. Class will meet 6:15 p.m. Wednesdays, March 9 – April 14.

PiYo is a perfect fusion of Pilates, Yoga, dance, sports training and more. Increase flexibility, build overall core strength, and improve balance. Class is designed for those that want an intense workout that is easy on the joints but burns calories and builds muscle in one effective workout. Class is scheduled 6 p.m. Tuesdays now through April 5.
