BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek Parks, Recreation & Cultural Department hosts a variety of events and programs for residents. Classes are held at CI Beaver Hall, 3696 Highmont St. unless otherwise noted. The following is a listing of upcoming events. Fees vary for programs. Hummingbirds soccer
Beavercreek Parks and Recreation in cooperation with Jump Start Sports is offering Hummingbirds Soccer for children ages 3-6. The program is scheduled for 5:30 or 6:30 p.m. (ages 3-4) and 6:30 (ages 5-6) Mondays, Sept. 10-Oct. 15 at Rotary Park.
Boys and girls will have fun while learning the basics of soccer and fundamental skills of the game. Sessions teach young children through fun drills and low-key non-competitive games. Registration required. Fees vary.
Perennial trade day
The City of Beavercreek Perennial Trade Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22 at Rotary Park Shelter, 2260 Dayton-Xenia Road. This free event invites gardeners to bring plants to trade. Every trader should bring at least 10 plants to swap for others. Gardeners can bring perennials, bulbs, rhizomes, trees, shrubs or indoor plants. Plants should be potted, and bulbs and rhizomes should be bagged. All plants should be clearly labeled so its new owner will know what it is.
Set up and preview time is 9:30 a.m. Trading begins promptly at 10 a.m. Plan to be on time because the trading takes place very quickly and is over in a few short minutes.
Beginner archery clinic
Beginner Archery Clinic 10 a.m. to noon or 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Virgallito Park. The clinic is intended for youth and adults ages 10 and up. Youths age 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.
This clinic is appropriate for beginner archers (both children and adults) with little to no experience with archery. Certified archery instructors will teach participants safe archery procedures, basic equipment use, the basics of shooting a bow and arrow as well as time to practice. Equipment will be provided by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Pre-registration is required. Fees vary.
