XENIA — The Greene Soil and Water Conservation District will host a tire collection event from 9-11 a.m. Dec. 13 at 2145 Greene Way Blvd., Xenia.
“Our goal is to clean up old tires from our local residences,” a release from the district states. “Grant monies allow us to over most of the recycling cost – leaving you only a small per tire fee. By recycling your tires during this amnesty collection, the cost to you will be minimal.”
The cost per tire is 50 cents per car or light truck tire (on or off-rim), $2 per semi tire (on or off-rim) and $5 per tractor or implement tire (on or off-rim). Payment must be made in cash or check at the drop-off. The program is not intended for businesses and is for Greene County residents only.
Those wishing to participate in the tire collection must complete a registration form available online at the district’s website and send it in to the district. Registrants will be contacted with a scheduled time to drop off their tires.
