FAIRBORN — The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Greene County is sponsoring a student send off for all new students who will be entering OSU this fall.

The event is planned to give incoming students the opportunity to meet each other and get their questions answered by a panel of current OSU students. Parents are also encouraged to attend to become acquainted with alumni leaders, students, and other parents from the local area. There is no charge for attendees; however, advance reservations are needed.

The picnic event is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 (rain or shine) at Fairborn Community Park East, Shelter 2. From Interstate 675, take exit 20. The park is located west of Fairborn High School on Dayton-Yellow Springs Road.

Dress is casual OSU attire. Picnic food will be provided by the Greene County Alumni Club at no charge. Activities to promote Buckeye spirit include the appearance of special guest Larry Lokai of Urbana (the Buckeyeman) who will present each new student with a Buckeye necklace.

Reservations for the send off will be accepted through Aug. 3. Visit www.greenecounty.alumni.osu.edu
