XENIA — The Xenia Volkswalking Club will hold its next walking event Saturday, July 8.

Walkers will have a chance to walk across the Wright State Way bridge, connecting the WSU campus to the retail area on the other side of Interstate 675.

There are two 5K Loops. One loop introduces walkers to the area west of The Mall at Fairfield Commons. The other includes the bridge and the areas around Wright State University. Both loops are rated 1A for being flat and on hard surfaces. The loop west of the mall has some grass in a park.

Required registration and start time is 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Everyone must finish by 3 p.m. The walk is free but those who want the stamp issued by the American Volkssport Association must pay $3.

For more information on this walk or Volkswalking in general, contact David at 937-545-6320 or visit ava.org. Xenia Walking Club also has a Facebook page.
