Extreme Quest Sports
BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek Parks Department in cooperation with Gym Quest is offering Extreme Quest Sports Program for children ages 6-17, 12-2 p.m. on Saturdays, October 7 – November 11, at the Gym Quest, 3820 Kemp Road.
Extreme Quest Sports combines Hip Hop Dance, Gymnastics and Parkour. Children will learn breakdancing and street-style choreography in addition to obstacle course training including, climbing, vaulting, rolling, flipping and more.
Fee is $75 for resident and $86 for non-resident.
Kids’ Monster Mash
BEAVERCREEK — The City of Beavercreek Parks, Recreation and Culture Department is inviting all ghouls and goblins ages 18 months -6 years old to register for Monster Mash scheduled on Tuesdays, Oct. 10-24, at C. I. Beaver Hall, 3696 Highmont Street.
10-10:45 a.m.: ages 18 months – 2 years old
11-11:45 a.m.: ages 3-6 years old
You and your child will make ghoulishly awesome crafts, create science experiments, play games, sing and dance and much more. Children can wear their favorite costume on the last day of class. Fee is $20 resident and $25 for non-resident. Material fee included.

Kiwanis Auction coming
BEAVERCREEK — The Fouth Annual Kiwanis Auction to benefit Beavercreek children will take place 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 at the Beavercreek Golf Club.
From electronics to unique pieces of art, sports team merchandise, gourmet food baskets and entertainment tickets, this year’s Beavercreek Kiwanis Silent Auction will have something for everyone. Auction proceeds will benefit Beavercreek children through scholarships for Parks and Recreation’s summer camps, supplemental meals distributed by Feed the Creek, and music and arts programs at Beavercreek Schools.

Pumpkin maze
BEAVERCREEK — Join the Beaver Creek Wetlands Association for pre-Halloween fun in the Teal Pumpkin Prairie Maze at Koogler Wetland/Prairie Reserve 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 located on Beaver Valley Road at New Germany Trebein Road.
Families will hike the trails of the Reserve to view the habitat of beneficial creatures that get a bad rap at Halloween – spiders, owls, snakes and bats. Participants may visit four hands-on, educational stations to learn about each creature and get a special non-food treat, while supplies last. Bring your favorite Trick–orTreat bag. Long pants and closed toe shoes are recommended.
Beginner archery clinic
BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek Parks Department is offering Beginner Archery Clinic at Wartinger Park Barn on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Adult Clinic (18+) is 10a.m – 12 p.m. and the Family Clinic (10 & up) is 1-3 p.m. Youths age 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.
This clinic is appropriate for beginner archers (both children and adults) with little to no experience with archery. A certified archery instructor will teach participants safe archery procedures, basic equipment use, the basics of shooting a bow and arrow as well as time to practice. Equipment will be provided by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Fees: $7 Resident/$10 Pair of residents; $12 non-resident/ $15 pair of non-residents. Call 937-427-5514 to receive “pair” pricing.
Jump Start Basketball
BEAVERCREEK — Jump Start Basketball is a fun-oriented, highly instructional, recreational basketball program designed for children in Pre K & K and grades 1-2. Sign up for the Jump Start Program starting Nov. 6 – Dec. 11
at Shaw Elementary Gym, 3560 Kemp Road.
Little Hoops Stars (pre K & K- minimum age 4 years old): 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Hoop Stars (Grades 1-2): 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Adult volunteers
BEAVERCREEK — Soin Medical Center is accepting adult volunteer applications for those interested in doing secretarial work, data inputting, and receptionist duties. Those applying should have strong skills with MS Office Suite, have ability to answer the phone and take messages, basic knowledge of office equipment, and enjoy learning new things.

Volunteer drivers, escorts needed
BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek Senior Center is seeking volunteer drivers and escorts for the transportation program. The center provides rides for seniors who don’t have another viable way to get to the doctor, grocery, rehab, the Center, dialysis and many other destinations.
Each driver has an escort that rides along to assist with directions and loading and unloading passengers. You may call 937-426-6166 or stop by the Center to inquire about these and other volunteer opportunities. We are making a difference in other people’s lives, you can too.
Council meetings
BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek City Council meets 6 p.m. the second and fourth Monday each month at City Hall, 1368 Research Park Drive, Second Floor. Workshops are held as needed.
Township trustees meetings
BEAVERCREEK TOWNSHIP — Beavercreek Township Trustees meet 1 p.m. second and fourth Mondays at Beavercreek Township’s Community Room, 2195 Dayton-Xenia Road in the lower level of the Fire Station 61. Zoning commissioner meetings are held 7:30 p.m. the first Thursday of the month.
