XENIA — The second annual Empty Bowl benefiting Interfaith Hospitality Network is slated for 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 at Faith Community United Methodist Church, 100 Country Club Drive.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved in advance. Dinner and a ceramic bowl costs $25; dinner only is $20. Children under 5 are free. Reservations with payments can be made at IHN/ Schneider House of Hope or mailed to 124 S. Detroit St., Xenia, 45385.

Local restaurants will provide over a dozen soups and breads for dinner. A dessert and beverage will also be included in the meal. Ceramic bowls will be provided by Xenia High School’s ceramics class, Decoy Art Studio in Beavercreek, potter Bruce Grimes of Yellow Springs and Grandpa’s Pottery Barn in Wilmington.

A silent auction will also be part of the night, featuring at least 35 items.

Empty Bowl is one of IHN’s major fundraisers; all proceeds will go toward helping displaced families in Greene County.
