BEAVERCREEK — Evergreen Children’s Center is celebrating 40 years of caring for children in Greene County during the current school year.

Evergreen, located at 2659 Dayton-Xenia Road, opened in 1977 under the leadership of Jill Gordon who has remained the center’s director ever since. Three lead teachers who were hired within the one year of business have also remained a part of the childcare business. After many years of business, Evergreen is now enrolling the children of former students, said Gordon.

To celebrate Evergreen’s anniversary, the center rented the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery for a night and invited all its current families and both current and former staff members.

Evergreen currently employees about 15 full and part-time staff members and serves nearly 120 families. Evergreen is an accredited Ohio Healthy Program, Growing up Wild School site and Connect to Nature site.
