KETTERING – A program offered by Kettering Weight Loss Solutions and created by HMR Weight Management Services (HMR) has been named a No. 1 Best Fast Weight-Loss Diet in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Diets of 2016 rankings. This is the first year U.S. News has published the Best Fast Weight-Loss Diet category. HMR also held its position as the No. 2 Best Weight-Loss Diet in the annual rankings list for the second year in a row.

During the ranking process, reporters and editors from U.S. News & World Report created in-depth profiles of 38 diets. A panel of nationally recognized experts on diet, nutrition, obesity, food psychology, diabetes and heart disease rated the diets on their effectiveness.

HMR’s programs focus on helping people lose weight quickly while teaching the healthy lifestyle skills needed for long-term weight management. The average weight loss for HMR’s clinic‐based participants is 66 pounds after 26 weeks, and the median weight loss for participants at home is 23 pounds over the first 12 weeks of the program.

Kettering Weight Loss Solutions has offered the HMR program for 26 years to community members who are interested in losing weight.

“HMR programs excel at providing the jump start many people need when beginning a healthier lifestyle program,” says Bonnie Wetzel, RN, clinical nurse manager of Kettering Weight Loss Solutions. “Through the HMR Program, people can lose weight without feeling hungry. The program achieves fast weight loss in a livable way, by encouraging people to eat more and stay satisfied. This makes it easier to stick to the program in both the short- and long-term.”

Studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of the HMR program in supporting weight loss. Research shows 47 lbs. average weight loss for a mix of HMR Decision-Free® and Healthy Solutions® clinic patients with a BMI of 40 or greater who completed the program for at least 12 weeks.
