FAIRBORN — Wright State men’s basketball player Loudon Love was included on the 2018-‘19 Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List that was announced on Jan. 9. The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation’s top mid-major player in Division I College Basketball. The Raiders’ 6-foot-9 center was also included on the list announced on Nov. 29.

Love has averaged 13.4 points and 8.6 rebounds in his sophomore season, after being named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year in 2018 as the Raiders advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Lou Henson coached 41 years. When he left the game in 2005 he was sixth all-time in career Division I wins with 779. He is the winningest coach at both Illinois and New Mexico State. He is one of only 12 coaches in the history of the game to take two schools to the Final Four.

The 2019 Lou Henson Award will be presented at the College Insider awards event in April at the site of the men’s division I national championship in Minneapolis, Minn. For a complete list, go to louhenson.com.

The Raiders, 8-9 and 2-2 Horizon League, will next play at 7 p.m. Friday Jan. 11 at Northern Kentucky (13-4, 3-1 Horizon), in Highland Heights, Ky. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
