Carroll defeats Xenia

XENIA — Tyler Goecke shot a 3-over-par 38 over the WGC Golf Course front nine to lead Carroll (1-4) to a 178-188 boys varsity golf win, Wednesday, the team’s first match win of the season. Curtis Mackey shot what his coach described as his “best round in two years” to finish with a 41 for the Patriots. Xenia (1-3) was led by Evan Adkins, who shot a 43. Travis Newell shot a 45 and, in his first varsity match, Logan Bilbre finished with a 49.

Beavercreek tops Bellbrook

BEAVERCREEK — Mason Zimmer of Bellbrook and Josh Sutton of Beavercreek shared medalist honors in a non-league golf match, Sept. 1 at Beavercreek Golf Club, each carding a 42. The Beavers won, 181-191 as Brandon Gischeidle shot 45, Brandon DeWitt 46 and Jake Tipps 48.

Raif Foster shot 50 for Bellbrook, while Luke DiCicco had 52 and William Martin 53.

Drifting Series heads to Kil-Kare Raceway

WESTFIELD, Ind. — The Midwest Drift Union will bring the third round of its Championship Series to Kil-Kare Raceway on Sept. 17 in Xenia. The MDU was founded in 2010 as a Midwest regional feeder series with the intention of advancing the area’s top drifting competitors to the professional level. Last season, the top-3 drivers were rewarded with a Formula Drift Pro 2 competitors license.
