BEAVERCREEK — An early evening attic fire did approximately $10,000 damage to a Ranch Drive home Friday, June 12.

According to Deputy Chief Scott Dorsten, the blaze started when a tree limb was struck by lightning and fell onto the power line feeding the home in the 4000 block.

The fire burned through the roof but was contained before it could spread to the rest of the home.

Everyone made it out of the home and no injuries were reported. Dorsten said once repairs to the electrical system are made the home will be habitable.
