XENIA — The Greene Community Health Foundation has announced that nearly $6,000 has been awarded to local agencies through its mini grant program.

For the 2016 funding cycle, the follow grants have been awarded:

-Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County: $1,000 for its 2016 summer camp program for children of homeless families in Greene County.

-The Life Tailor: $1,000 for the “Within My Reach” project, which helps provide support and guidance for at-risk youth.

-OSU Extension Greene County: $1,000 to use toward the SNAP-Ed “Cooking Matters” project for women and families receiving food assistance benefits.

-Star Pediatrics: $1,000 to use for asthma education sessions for children in Greene County.

-Soin Medical Center Special Care Nursery: $990 to use toward the purchase of Halo Sleep Sacks for Greene County newborns.

-Sugarcreek Township Fire Department: $1,000 to use toward a mock crash project to educate the students about the dangers of impaired driving during prom and graduation season.
