“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 18:10)

The little ones that Jesus refers to are all Christians who are children of God through faith in Him. These are the little ones who receive the constant care of their Creator. These are the ones who have angels surrounding them for protection from the evil intentions of the Devil. For anyone to despise or look down upon God’s children brings a clear warning. These children have angels watching over them and they serve the Father’s will.

As we think of angels actually watching over us, we are stunned. These ministering spirits of God do a great service for Him with perfect obedience. They serve Him day and night in heaven and on earth. They surround us, unseen, always. The fact of God’s power so close to us at every moment should cause us to fall to our knees in humble praise. We are not abandoned in a world that looks down upon us but strengthened and protected to see His will accomplished. Let the world know that to oppose the one true God is to oppose His powerful army of angels.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all You do to protect and care for us. Think You for Your Holy Angels who are our constant companion through life. Ever direct them to do their work of watching over us in this world that is filled with danger. At every turn may Your angels be there for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
