Your Beavercreek Historical Society held its monthly Board meeting Oct. 11 at the History Center, with Vice-President Roger Coy presiding.

Since the historic buildings in Wartinger Park are owned by the City but interiors and contents are Society responsibility, Facilities Coordinator Bob Bader and City Parks Liaison Kim Farrell reported on winterizing buildings. A group of Cinderellas was found cleaning out fireplaces and sweeping floors.

The popular quarterly meeting at Peace Lutheran Church is coming up Oct. 23. It’s open to the public and will feature a presentation by Karl Colon on the history of the Greene County and Beavercreek Branch libraries.

The winter Society season is relatively slow, but plans are already in the works for 2019.

Look for a quarterly meeting presentation on the Johnston Farm and Indian Agency in January, and an open house at the History Center sometime in May.
