BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek City School District Superintendent Paul Otten joined the Beavercreek Rotary Club. Brian Lampton was Otten’s sponsor.

Otten, formerly of the Fairfield Rotary Club, was raised in Cincinnati and graduated from Elder High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Wittenberg University, and a master’s degree in administration from Xavier University.

He started his career with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati teaching science in middle school before becoming a fifth grade math teacher in the Farfield School District. Otten spent 19 years at Fairfield, and served as the assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent before taking his current position in Beavercreek.

Otten and wife, Julie, have been married for 21 years. They have four children. He enjoys all his kinds activities, and is pursuing running 50 marathons in all 50 states by the time he turns 50. He has currently competed in 24 marathons.
