BEAVERCREEK — Retired Beavercreek Township Fire Department Battalion Chief Kip Smith will present his remembrances of the 1969 Lammer’s Barrel Factory fire 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Quarterly Meeting of the Beavercreek Historical Society.

The exploding fire lit up the Beavercreek nighttime skyline for many miles. Smith will share a video which he narrates that was shot by the late Robert Deal at the scene of the fire along the Little Beaver Creek at the corner of Grange Hall and Patterson Roads. A long-time member of the fire department, he will also reflect on the history of the department.

The meeting will be held at Peace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 3650 Dayton-Xenia Road. The meeting is free and open to the public. For more information contact Jill Kincer at 937-429-0291.
